QQI became a member of European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the umbrella organisation for quality assurance agencies in the European Higher Education Area in 2012. It is a policy of ENQA that bodies established through an amalgamation of other agencies undergo an external ENQA coordinated review within two years of the amalgamation being completed. This external review process is now underway for QQI. The evaluation is based on a QQI self-evaluation report. The review team will visit QQI on the 22 and 23 May and will meet with QQI staff, the Board and external stakeholders over the two days.
This review is restricted to QQI’s quality assurance functions in higher education. It will not involve evaluation of any aspects of further education or English language training.
A copy of the Self-Evaluation report can be accessed a this link http://www.qqi.ie/Downloads/self%20eval%20reports/self%20evaluation%20report%20March%202014.pdf

The paper can be accessed as follows: http://www.qqi.ie/Downloads/Consultation/Docs%20March%202014/Green_Paper-Recognition_of_Qualifications.pdf.
